MY PURPOSE

WHAT MOTIVATES ME TO DO HUMANITARIAN WORK/GIVE AID

The purpose of my humanitarian work is to save life, alleviate suffering, and improve human dignity in my little way.

First of all, I feel a moral obligation. The Bible says “And you shall remember the Lord your God: for it is he who give you the power to make wealth…” Deut. 8:18. I think the only way to remember God or give back to Him what He has given me is to give to the less privileged in society and to love my neighbor which I express in my Humanitarian work.

Again, my driving force is the feeling that I am actually making a positive impact in the lives of others through my work. It is a reflection of my passion for creating a positive change in the lives of others in society.

Also, it makes me happy. We have all heard it before that “material things do not bring happiness”. However, having lived in and been to disaster or poverty-stricken places myself and seeing my fellow human beings, especially children dying on the streets, in front of their parents with collapsed houses, no food, no money, no good drinking water, and no good healthcare, I then realized how lucky I am and agree that good food, money, portable water, good houses, and good healthcare can go a long way to put a smile on the faces of the needy in society.

The beauty of my life is then reflected in the smiles on the faces of the less privileges in societies.
